WHAT A TERP!
All right! So, I'm long over due for some sort of an update, I know!...
I wasn't feeling all too splendidly this morning, so I decided to just take the day off for once. I had a couple of days that I needed to use up before my anniversary date, so why not... Right?
Today is October 4, but if I didn't know any better, I would have thought it was the 4th of July! They're saying that it's supposed to get up to 86 today. I'm not complaining, because it's only expected to get up to around 50 or so, by Friday. That's Wisconsin for ya!... If you don't like the weather, stick around. It'll change in a day or 2!... Grin
OK. Enough about the weather already. What, if anything does that have to do with the price of gas in West Allis? By the time most of you read this, there will most likely be snow on the ground anyway!...
Moving right along...

So, most of you may know, but others may not... A couple of weeks ago, I found myself without a ride to choir practice on Sunday afternoon. So, I called a cab. I called that cab quite a bit earlier than I normally would have, because on Friday night I ended up being re'a'a'a'a'a'lly late for bowling and I didn't want that to repeat itself. Especially for something like choir practice. On top of it all, I'm glad I did give myself a bit more time than usual, because the cab driver didn't get word from dispatch that I had a guide dog... Like it really matters!... So, he started thinking about leaving, but I went ahead and yanked open the back dorr, got inside and placed a call on my cell phone... It worked... In fact, by the end of the ride, he was offering to have me call him, whenever I needed a lift..., but I digress...
That being said, I arrived at the church at around 4:05 and choir wasn't scheduled to start until 4:30. All of the doors were locked, so I just decided to stay outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and just wait for everybody to show up.
So, at around 4:20, people started showing up. The first person to greet me was Laurie. She took an immediate interest in Rattan... She told me that she had a German Shepherd named Gracie...
Laurie has her Masters degree from Gallaudet University and has co-authored a book or two. She works as an interpreter for the deaf. She also teaches interpreting at an area University. She is extremely intelligent, has a warm personallity, cares about others and most importantly, we share the same commitment to our beliefs and
doctrine as Christians.
Anyway, to make a long story short, we got together for dinner last Wednesday night and ended up talking until closing time. On Saturday, we went biking and to lunch. We ended up spending around 6 hours together. I went to her place for Bible study on Sunday night. She made some incredible low-carb chili in the crock pot, etc...
I haven't known Laurie for long, but I do know that we seem to have quite a bit in common and that she is a very special person and I hope to be sharing more about her in the future.
It really wasn't my intention to offer quite so much information about one topic, but once I start writing about something good, it's sort of hard to stop! Can anybody identify?
Hope everybody is having a good week.
HAND SHAKES AND WAGS,
Stevedore & Rattan

Ratz! This greatly diminishes the possibility of me ever getting your tandem bike.
Truthfully, she sounds like a wonderful girl and she can cook - Excellent!
God bless you richly today Steve-o!
Hugs and kisses,
Bob V
Hmmmmm. Sounds very interesting. Yep. When you get a good topic you can just run with it. :-) Of course, she sounds very interesting to me too, because she's an interpreter and has her master's from Gallaudet. I remember on me and John's first date--we got kicked out of the YMCA. We ended up talking too long after we had played racquetball and lost all track of time. Apparently they were closing. :-)
LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAURIEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
That's all I have to say about that.
LOL to Bob - why are you kissing my brother???? :-D
awww stevie I love youuuu! :) I'm soo happy.
and for those of you who don't know...I'm his sister, so I am allowed to love him. :)
HUGS AND KISSES (from me, not bob v)

Okay, I've read your post; where's the snow? You said that most of us would be reading this entry after it snows. Oh wait, that's a four-letter word; I probably shouldn't be putting that up here. SMILE! Anyway, glad to see a fresh entry, and keep us updated on Laurie!
